Vintage 1960s Light Blue Chiffon Pleated Turban Hat Box & Bag. 

Condition is Used. In very very good preowned condition

Hat believed to be designed by Mitzi Lorenz and sold by Grants of Croydon. 

Sold in a plastic bag labelled ‘modelled by Mitzi Lorenz of London in a large Grants of Croydon hat box.

Grants was a Large department store at the North End High Street of Croydon. It opened in 1895 and closed in 1985. In its heyday, it was frequented by the wealthy and even had visits from the Queen. The building is listed and although it has been renovated to its former glory, behind the facade it is now an entertainment complex. 

Mitzi Lorenz was believed to be from Vienna. She was a millinery designer in the 1930s through to 1992. She died in 1999. 

This hat is in beautiful condition suitable for vintage functions special occasions, weddings etc 

Light blue chiffon pleated surround with french blue fabric top

Large bow to rear with pleated detail to sides. 

Fully Lined 

Inside measures 22 inches. 5 inches at deepest edge. 

Original Hat Box labelled Grants of Croydon in fair condition showing signs of wear and repair and measures 11.5 x 11 x 8 inches. (Width, Height, Depth) clean inside and out.
